Dallas International Guitar Show
Dallas, Texas April 18-19-20, 2008
The Dallas International Guitar Show has just marked its 30th year with another fantastic festival.
This year's celebration was held at Market Hall near downtown Dallas. There were an estimated 20,000
attendees that made the six string sojourn. All were rewarded for their travels with a massive display of vintage guitars,
amps, and parts; as well as a chance to Buy, Sell, or Trade. Legendary performers were on hand to entertain and
inspire. Along with the many vintage booths were top manufactures of the finest and most historic instruments.
Our booth was manned by guitar tech Adam Seutter. He was on-hand to demonstrate installation and
offer insight to the worlds best and most popular vibrato...Bigsby. According to Adam there were very few moments
when there wasn't someone visiting the booth. He went on to say, "Just like Arlington, I was struck by the number of young people
who stopped by the booth and were interested in learning about Bigsby tailpieces. Excitement is certainly present in a new generation
of players, and Dallas proved it."
There was one point during the show, where Adam demo'd 15 Bigsby installs in 2 hours.
Many of the people were surprized to see how easy it was and commented on how great it
was that a Bigsby could be added to any guitar. We couldn't agree more.
Pictures below are from the show.
