STANDARD
GUITAR SPECIFICATIONS
Bigsby Electric standard guitars are STRICTLY electric. Body
is only two inches thick, thus eliminating any acoustic feed
back so common in acoustic guitars which have been made over
into electric guitars.
HEAD
The head is a revolutionary design with all tuning keys on
the same side. Merle Travis is responsible for this design
and it has many advantages. 1st, all keys turn the same direction
to raise the pitch of a string. 2nd, all strings are perfectly
straight from the tail piece to the tuning key. 3rd, more
even tension is applied to all strings.
PICKUPS
Bigsby standard pickup with adjustable screw for each string.
Pickup itself is also adjustable. Standard guitars can be
furnished with either one or two pickups as desired and if
only one is used it may be placed in either position.
CONSTRUCTION
Bigsby Standard guitars are made entirely of bird's eye maple
with piano finish. The fingerboard is of rosewood and the
bridge and nut are both metal. The neck of the guitar is one
piece all the way from the head clear through to the tail
piece with the body built around the neck. Bigsby electric
standard guitar bodies are NOT solid, but are fabricated similar
to a conventional guitar body, and neck is guaranteed not
to bow or twist. Bigsby Standard Guitar necks have a new design
adjusting bar which makes it possible to keep the neck perfectly
true. All standards are cutaway models and the 20th. fret
is as accessible as the first with the thumb around the neck.
Weight complete in case 20 1/2 pounds. Guitar only with two
pickups 6 1/2 lbs.
